It reminded me of "Leon the Professional". Had a clever storyline which had me curious where it was going. The Director of Photography had talent, there were some very clever low light shots that looked to be accidental, but on set... that can't be accidental. It's too expensive and production cost is intensive. Also regarding the storyline, it wasn't predictable for me.
I just like when I'm full immersed in a story, and forget that I'm at a theater.
The editing and music was time pretty well too. The action scenes matched the tempo of the film. etc. So there was a lot of work put into that.
And the Casting was pretty good too. Yeah the villan was bleh, but she played the part. And did it well. I would have totally fucked that shit up.
That's pretty much why I liked it.
