Why is so much of this information being made public about gathered intelligence? About what they found or didn't find? It really boggles me that any of this is being shared through the media. Everything should have been classified and kept quiet. There's no reason that the public needed to know that they gathered hard drives, or that they found intelligence about potential plans to blow up trains.
Who releases this stuff and how do so many media outlets get different stories and different details?

Like, one of the things that is out there is the government admitting that they have info on where al queda members live and may be in hiding. Great! Give them a head start on leaving wherever they are!

Noam Chomsky: My Reaction to Osama bin Laden’s Death
"It’s increasingly clear that the operation was a planned assassination, multiply violating elementary norms of international law."

^ Couldnt care less what laws might have been broken. If they arrested him there would be hostage situations all over the world trying to get us to free him. It would be a total disaster. They did the right thing. The dude is responsible for 1000's of innocent civilian deaths, and his from us for 10 years. I think at that point you just take the guy out asap.
They keep saying that if he surrendered they wouldnt have killed him. I dont believe that for one second. I think they walked in that room and killed him instantly. They were killing dudes that werent armed before they even got to him. Only one guy shot at them, the others didnt, so its pretty clear what they were there to do, and they didnt give a shit about what people would say after it was done, they just needed to get rid of this guy.

^^ let's hope the same principle is applied to George Bush etc.
