OK so need a vintage photo like this:
Its for 1 poster for deco and im barely getting paid for it - i calculated that image to be License fee: $570.00
What in gods name are they smoking..I tried looking up vintage public domain stuff but its a mess so far. Anyone got good links to shit like this pref. free ones

Thanks so far, those links above are they free to use in a poster for decoration? Im not promoting a product so dont see how it would classify as commercial

But seriously, you get paid for the design, but if the client wants a photo, that's an extra charge they should be expected to pay, whether you're purchasing it rights managed or hiring a photographer yourself. Clearly you didn't anticipate this when you quoted $200 for a poster job. You say you're "barely getting paid," and I believe that, so if the client can't afford the photo, they probably shouldn't be getting one.

monospaced: I guess i didnt explain myself properly, i felt the price is too much considering the amount of prints(1) and to whom it is (non profit).
This is a fun almost charity job that im doing..
If the picture was for a different purpose i wouldnt care about the price- so you are charging them, money. that needs to go to budget needs not artist's pocket.logi
