Think they will be using another company to handle their new cloud services or do it themselves?

do you know Apple? :)
Of course they'll be doing it themselves..
That's why they spent gazillions in their new datacenters..

apple? the company that upsells consumer grade products by manufacturers who build for the rest of the industry by wrapping them in a shiny aluminum box?
apple? the ones that went intel after their chip structure reached a stagnant platueau?
apple? the one that got out of manufacturing their own servers to make ipods?
apple? the beatles on itunes?
i'm sure they will be using an apple branded(read bought)third party service that simply wears the apple badge at the most.
- that pretty much sums it upGeorgesII
- Keep telling you that.ernexbcn

The results so far:
50/50.
My take is also a fence sitter... if they are using another company they would have tested the shit out of them, paid enough money to get the job done right and be ready to buy that company if everything works well.
If they have done it themselves they probably put a lot of money into getting it done right and will have numerous ways of selling parts of the technology through backdoor channels for a massive markup.

Vendor. Just like they source their physical products.
Apple is in the design and marketing business.

They want to be in COMPLETE control of anything having to do with their app store / itunes / and any new cloud related things that get you to fork out additional money. ....with the new huge datacenters theyve been building, and throw in the current sony psn debacle... it would make sense for them to do it themselves with the highest level of security.

iCloud will be run by Apple, what's there to outsource with the giant datacentre they just built? I'm not even sure iTunes downloads still come from Akamai these days.
