friday should have been a day of rage against the monarchy. riots in the streets, off with their heads! : )

when you look at the history of the brit royals it makes total sense to keep such high quality people in their positions. thank goodness we live in a country whos founders had the good sense to kick them and their wig wearing inbred dummys out. bye bye, back to your polluted island.

Storm the palace, loot all the art and furniture, torch the place to the ground, and build a lovely park on top of the ruins - paid for by the sale of all the royal crap & have the royal idiots serve as the grouds keepers.
England has given so much in the way of law, civility and the arts, and this is the c®ap people are drawn to. I weep for the future.
- Fuck, did taxpayers pay for this wedding or did Michael Middleton foot the bill?honest
- Middleton paid £100k enough I think. The amount of revenue for TV rights, touristism etc makes up for it in a blink of an eyeejectstudio

Soooo... at the end, everything boils down to History and proud of their Nation. Seems that it's all symbolic in a way, living monuments...

surprised and just a little bit pissed at all the hatin' in this thread.
it is, or rather is should be important to us brits, just like independence day is important to the yanks. except we don't really have a 4th of july where we can get drunk and chant USA USA USA from the top of buildings (i've lived in the states and seen this). And if you're not into football there isn't much else to get stuck into. We don't have a national back patting day.
So for the first time in years, an international even of patriotism doesn't seem at all obtuse to me.
That said, i've been away from the media hype and it hasn't made me sick. but i think it's important to give-a-fuck about the heritage and traditions of other countries, even if you didn't wear a hat and drink pims.

- what part of independence day is important to said stereotype... yanks? hot dogs steaks and chinese made firecrackerslogi
- firecrackerslogi
- declaring independence is hard to be proud of when coming at the cost of genocidelogi
- so you think America shouldn't be allowed independence day?mydo
- @logi what genocide dude?!?! Every country has done a somewhat genocide if you ask me. That's why they stand where they are right now.k_temp
- isnt independence day the day we won against the brits.. hence the hating on the quuene-pill
- im wasnt around back then so for me july 4th is solely about fireworks!!!! heh!! pride is nice.e-pill
- exactly e. you guys got fireworks we got a wedding.mydo
- Yeah but fireworks are so much more fucking rad than a faggy weddingRamanisky2

Heritage? - It's oppression (although subtle) masked under the guise of tradition. Celebrating a couple of inbreeds getting married in a huge budget turd extravaganza, when the money and resources could be otherwise used for good is at best, ignorant.
This is the same crap that racist rednecks use when they want to keep the rebel flag "a waving" - "it's our countries tradition y'all, along with a marrying your cousin."
- Oh dear American by any chance. Do your homework yank.ejectstudio
- Agreed.set
