Anyone know how to remove the banding you get on a render from after effects, when you add a vignette on a vector based animation?

Try making it 16 bit in prefs.

- doesn't workbroxybluenose
- -1, rarely works unless the problem is something different. Many stacked blend modes for exampleanimatedgif

There isn't enough stops of colour.
- Make the vignette between two colours further apart from each other
- Add noise/dither, this is the main thing that will make a difference
- Make it 16bit (probably wont change much in such a simple comp but worth a try)

as said,
top adjustment layer of noise set around 2% with color turned off.
could also try an adjustment layer of scatter instead if you dont want the grain.
or flipping to 32bit.

What compression are you rendering at? The codec could be causing the banding if you aren't seeing it in your main viewport.
H264 and sorenson3 will prolly show some banding. Going with lossless or a png sequence should remove it at a 16bit or higher comp. I agree with adding that noise layer that others suggested.
Post a pic so we can see what we're looking at here.
