I am going surfing. I have chest hair.
I will be using a wetsuit.
If I do not shave it, will I be in pain?

technically, if you have body hair, you will already achieve the warmth bears and other wild animals get in the water.

i surfed for years with both wetsuit and chest hair. granted, not like the guy above...
pain from surfing usually is not hair related.- where does it come from?raf

hair in the realm of surfing is considered ugly and disgusting, unless its on top of your head. Depending on the wetsuit, if you are wearing a wetsuit jacket, then the pros is that you will look good within the lineup.

i did have a summer upper that was slightly loose - and caused a bit of discomfort, but everything that fit snug was fine.

Why shave if you'll use a wetsuit??

If you are going to wear a wetsuit vest, you might want to consider shaving your underarm hair.

A friend from South America told me to shave wetsuit or not. Not into it though, hence further research.
I don't give a shit about what the surfing community thinks about body hair!

Can't wait to see how this all pans out. The solution needs to be posted in the "useful" thread.

It will have sleeves.

Google says to put vaseline on your hairy bits before your wetsuit.
Apparently makes it easier to take the wetsuit off too.

No need to shave - you'll be fine.
