"Who are we? Where do we come from? For thousands of years humanity has turned to religion and myth for answers to these enduring questions. But in this series, Brian presents a different set of answers - answers provided by science."
saw the 1st episode last night, quite enjoyed it. Some nice photography in there. It's the universe for dummies.

Brian did not have any answers in that programme about who are we or where we came from.
Great visuals though.

- What exactly do you mean by 'who we are and where we come from' ? We are us, we come from here. ? Duh.mikotondria3

I thought the same as breadlegz. Wasn't much content or much to be learned within the show. It was all just beatifully shot scenes. With the guy striking 'poses of ponderance' in the foreground or as a silhouette.

Also, what I didn't get was that he described the sand in castle shape as 'order' and all the other sand as 'chaos'. Who is he to determine that?

i try to watch this, but after about 3 seconds find it far too patronizing. sadly a lot of bbc documetaries are like that these days.
Horizons is good, but sometimes that becomes to offensively dumbed down too. And i certainly wouldn't be classed as academically intelligent.
- 3 seconds? Way to give it a chance.PeterPancake
- I'm Joking dude, I watched about 30 mins.Hombre_Lobo

loved the show. Beautifully shot, and a nice intro to key concepts - i.e 2nd law of thermodynamics, the directionality of time, the heat death of the universe and the immortal "This is the way the world ends: Not with a bang but a whimper."

I think some people are missing the point. This is more than a just a show about science. Packaged with it is a deeper more polemic message which is especially relevant to today's society.
Trust me, it's 'profound'.

Retards turn to religion while great ones turn me... Oh my...
