Is anyone using any google apps instead of basecamp, jira, etc?
I am reviewing these and would like to try one. Any qbn info would be appreciated.

I use it with my girl to write down things like grocery list, etc.
For work, basecamp.

Have used Google and Basecamp and to be honest you get what you pay for - Basecamp is far superior for project management. it facilitates collaboration between distributed teams more effectively than anything i've use in the past - there is a cost but clients seem to love and adopt it for themselves which i think is a pretty compelling endorsement of that product.
Google Docs has some basic issues that just seem to cause a bad vibe - eg when i last used it i wasnt able to embed an image larger than 2000x2000 pixels (!) or print a spreadsheet on A3 (!)..
Open Office (its free) has a solution in there if your prepared to invest some exploration time but from my experience the Powerpoint clone was very easy to adopt to.

We have been using 'Rally', which isnt too bad ,certainly better than my dabble in Jira and Basecamp.
