I can't recall the website to do that.
You would simply put your account info or email and hit the "delete" button and it would do the job for you.
Anyone know which site I'm talking about?
I need it.

i've been thinking about doing this too. Just out of curiousity, what is your reasoning for deleting it?
- procrastination is a hell of a wordMaaku
- yeah, just weighing out why or why not. kind of a pros and cons list for the decision.capn_ron
- just deactivate it for a few months, it'll keep you away and give you a sense of what it's like to be deleted.monospaced

I feel like i spend too much time there reading crap from dumb chicks from high school that i didn't really talk to anyway. I also feel like if I get off it i can not have my life digitized forever. But the only thing is how i get in contact with that girl who i just want to have sexy time with.

I used Suicidemachine after a heated political debate between my nephew-in-law (an Iraq War veteran) and a few of my "Facebook Friends" turned very ugly. Although I disagree with his political stance I admire him for his courage for fighting for our country and his beliefs.
It turned into something like you would read in the Fox News Comments and it was making me sick to my stomach. I deleted the post and all the comments then just went ahead and deleted my account.
I was off for a few months before someone started a "Bring Me Back to Facebook" page and my cousin-in-law joined it.
Now I try to keep all my political beliefs off of facebook and use it for it's intended purpose. Stalking ex girlfriends and making sure their life isn't better than mine.

Iam not using my FB account really... just checking like 3 or 4 times a week for about 1min each time.
I changed my name and deleted all my pictures and personal info. I also deleted everything I ever posted on my wall and all the things i like and shit. Took me like 1 or 2 hours to delete stuff. Now my profile is all locked down, no one can write on my wall.

I also deleted 60% of my "friends" list.

Back in November I deactivated my account. I was simply over hearing about people's relationships (vomit-inducing sometimes), their ugly children and pets, and of course ex-girlfriends. I was also annoyed by the fact that I had over 200 "friends" of which maybe 75 I have actually seen in the last few years. Recently I reactivated, pared down my "friends" to people I actually interact with (no, just because we were in class together in high school doesn't mean we're friends) and family, and now the whole thing is a lot easier to digest. I keep it around for no good reason whatsoever...mostly to hear about parties, I guess.
- the whole party thing is one reason i'm having a hard time getting rid of it.capn_ron

I'm totally and helplessly addicted to it, have tracked down almost everyone I've known and and liked over the last 30 years, made surprising discoveries about people that the most unlikely of friends with me, connect and have a laugh with close friends, stalk friends of friends of friends pictures, friend people I don't know because of mutual interest in music, or graffiti, making some genuine connections sometimes. I really don't see the problem with it and why everyone's all 'like so like over facebook, yeh' about it.. It's like being sick of watches or tv or cars, its ubiquitous. Don't share anything with anyone on there you wouldn't want anyone else seeing or reading - I don't understand why anyone would ever need that explaining to them. They know my name and a few things I like and who my friends are. So fucking what ? If you walk off the public street up to my door and knock it - guess what - I answer it.. We all live in public, public 'means' all of us. The internets are outside 'in the real world', just act accordingly.
- It's not so much about what I share. It's about how much shit other people share that turned me off.monospaced
