I am personally and genuinely concerned about the processes used by some "creatives, generally speaking. We all know that some are better than others in terms of creativeness, but I am sure that there is much clever ways of reproducing what you find inspiring, improvement of some sort could be added for instance, I don't know!
Research is also key, I am not saying by any means that my work is the most original, it isn't, neither is my website different from many others, or maybe the name of my business is similar to some around, and so its logo. But I have been educated to research, I don't know if the case is that some "creatives" are not having that education or simply they ignore it. My work is inspired by other good pieces of work that I respect, My website serves a specific purpose and the content of it has been created focused on that purpose, the logo and name that I use for my business are a combination of intuition and research so I don't step on my neighbor feet and the shape of the whole thing is the result of hard work.

This could have been a reply in your other thread, surely. Wtf do you want us to say to this?

Nah. These are my own thoughts. Nothing to do with anything. Just expressing myself regarding the a broad and general issue.

"I have been educated to research"
Sounds great. But for better readability, which no doubt will provide you with research material in form of good and honest replies, have you ever considered paragraphs and line-breaks?
You know --- because you're asking people to make an effort. At least I think you do. What was your question again...the one in the title?

i am most inspired by everything outside of my industry. if i focus on mine alone, as lets say you are, i would feel that my creativity is limited to that one style.. this is why i look else where, to keep my ideas fresh and different.. to constantly evolve the growth of my imagination.. also looking at many different things for inspiration will lead your learning to greater depths and solving the challenges ahead of you that much easier.. you just got to look right and left at the same time..

e-pill is right. the design world is so small and introspective it's important to get your head out of design books/mags/media and look at the world out there, where people don't worry about the difference between arial and helvetica. that's where the fresh ideas will come from.

"Inspiration" is a weapon that governments are using to keep us away from real problems...
