here is a tip.. if you are playing as recon, and you are setting up a mobile spawn point using the radio beacon.. and you place it out in an open area.. your team mates will spawn in the sky and will parachute down leaving them exposed to the enemy..
if possible always try to place them under some sort of covered area so they will spawn where you place it.
use the containers and place them in there.. usually a great spot.. or on a second floor in a building.. not on the roof.

here are 2 videos discussing frag rounds for shotguns and all ammo types for each shotgun respectively, they are great to understand which guns and which ammo to use, by showing examples for each weapon against the enemy using various rifles or carbines or MGs

e-pill you should try the squad TDM, its actually pretty fun. High intensity and close range fast paced matches. i like it.

Not being able to quit out back to the main menu after a game is almost unforgivably retarded

What @TheMagicSheep says it's true, in between rounds there's no way to go the menu, you can only wait until the countdown finishes, then the map loads and from there you can quit. It's retarded.

i dont know why.. but like 90% of every game i play i am squad leader.. in a squad with people higher levels than me..
shouldnt they be squad leader? how is it chosen? does anyone know??
i also just did some of the best games i ever played.. took MVP 7 times in a row.

Battlefield 3 squad leaders can call in artillery strikes
Artillery strikes were last seen in 2006′s Battlefield 2142, where the Commander could call in an artillery strike anywhere on the map. Since there’s no Commander in Battlefield 3, DICE has instead trickled down many of the Commander features to the regular soldier: the UAV is now available to everyone (if UAV stations return), and there will be an unlockable UAV for the Engineer class.
Not only that, according to DICE’s Karl-Magnus Troedsson at the recent Eurogamer Expo, squad leader will have the ability to call in artillery strikes. This is in addition to the unlockable mortar strike, which is available to everyone playing the Engineer class.
While we were disappointed with the lack of a Commander in Battlefield 3, it’s good to see DICE keep many of the assets and spread them out to the squad level.

yes friendly fire, no kill cam, no triangles over ones head, but if spotted it will show you on the mini map only, no ammo or health bar on right side of screen, you will have to know how many bullets you have left, health is at 60% not at 100% and 60 is the max.. so kills are quicker as well as dying, when your health drops the screen will go mostly white.. and or lose all colour.. thats when you know you are at or close to 0%, you can only spawn on squad leader, if you are squad leader you can spawn on any of your team mates, or anyone can spawn on a placed radio beacon from a recon soldier, when you are shooting at an enemy you will not know you are hitting them as they will not have a health bar indicating the shot, also after a set amount of team kills, you will automatically be kicked out of game.
the admin of the server can change the presets, usually its 3-5 team kills before the kick.
also when you throw a grenade and you are killed in motion it will drop to the floor near you and can kill your team mates.
claymore will only kill a team mate if they either throw a grenade near it or if they shoot it.. otherwise you ca n freely run past your own or your team's claymore.
your c4 will remain on set target after you die for a limited time.
so if you are killed and re-spawn you have the opportunity to set it off, an example if you place it on a vehicle ..- you get to use 2 claymores max, & they will remain even if you die or drop more elsewheree-pill

- if you are teamkilled, your team loses a "ticket" and the enemy gains an advantage.e-pill
- a medic can revive a downed player for a very limited time after they are killed to regain..e-pill
- ..the lost ticket.. each round there is usually 250 tickets per attacking team.e-pill
- once all 250 tickets are taken the round is over. and team kills can give that enemy the win.e-pill
