Art Director vs Designer

  I work in a very small studio (8 people). We have

  Owner/Account Manager/Sales
  Creative Director
  Account/Project Manager
  Me

  As the sole designer for the last 4 months there isn't a single project where I haven't managed almost all aspects of a project. My creative director is now essentially a 'brand strategist' and rarely offers any feedback/critique in the way of true 'creative/art director'.

  I am designer/cd/ad/pm and at times AM.... And I can say with no ego that I do all of these things better than my 'superiors'.

  the more levels of titles, the more levels of random decision bullshit to deal with... the fewer levels of titles, the more creative freedom in my experience....
