Question: why is there is a reflection of the city lights?
- reinitialize0
the lights are reflected of of the pilot's forehead sweat

Since its lit from above, how is it possible to have the top of the nose to reflect light?
Maybe someone can explain
- lit from below.....********
- The reflected lights are 'forward' of the nose, not below it.ghandolf

Question: why isn't there any smog?

the nose shouldn't be perceived as being above the lights. When landing, the nose attitude points downwards during descent and the curvature of the earth brings the horizon up past your eye's reference point. it's reflecting the lights way off in the distance, not the lights underneath it. ....i think.

Imagine one of those round 'bubble' mirrors like you see in hospitals, or on some street corners that allow you to look around the corner. If you held one of those out in front of you, it would reflect the lights 'forward' of the mirror - relative to where your eye is, above and behind the mirror.
Also, I'll see your nighttime LAX and raise you a daytime JFK landing.
- The lights reflecting in the nose, are forward of the plane, not below the plane.ghandolf

THIS IS A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY.

there is a reflection because the top of the nose you are seeing is not parallel to the ground, its at an angle therefore its picking up reflections

fuck me. americans are morons.

why are lights reflecting?

"The lights reflecting in the nose, are forward of the plane, not below the plane."indeed! you would still reflections even at such an obtuse angle.
provided it was less than a 180 degree angle (obtuse).

MOAR! !ЯAOM ...I done bettered it.
Shame the HD version isn't as sharp as it could be. Shulda used something better than a canon s95, maybe.
