Imagine one of those round 'bubble' mirrors like you see in hospitals, or on some street corners that allow you to look around the corner. If you held one of those out in front of you, it would reflect the lights 'forward' of the mirror - relative to where your eye is, above and behind the mirror.
Also, I'll see your nighttime LAX and raise you a daytime JFK landing.
