That's exactly what I needed to know, ABT. This is my first time designing for it and I wanted to know if I was limited to the boxey design I'm so commonly seeing.
So there are really no parameters for me to follow .. just design as if it were for html/css?

Basically, yeah, total freedom - you're just talking about a PHP-based page where certain Wordpress-specific tags will add the content in.

The simple-minded reuse of boring layouts is boring.... the inventive rethinking of layouts, even within the slight limitations of wordpress can do amazing stuff... read a few wp coding tutorials on a certain smashed magazine website and others...
