I see no reason to stop. Good potential for making money over the long term. And I can sit around at home watching movies while I work.
- Only danger is running out of movies to watchabettertomorrow
- don't worry. most of the movies will be replaced with crappy real-life shows. lol. and that is cheap, they can play anytime.akrok

I just wonder what happens when you are fulltime at agencies or studios for 10+ years and either get bored or replaced by younger DesignHeroes...
I guess 1 solution would be to either Freelance forever and stay good, run a successful creative business or... to somehow find enough money to get into say real estate business and just travel and make cool shit?- i already have 10+ years.
been making cool shit.

hmmm........ I'm an aging freelancer, but I still like it.. wouldn't trade cube-slavery for this life at all....
Except for the CEO and a suit or two, I am often the oldest one at an agency when I walk in to show my book.... but that doesnt' bother me.... I seem to get a few gigs due to my graying hair inspiring some strange illusion of confidence....
But yes, There are some agencies where it's up or out, and people seem to get laid off at 40.... or turn into powerpoint jockeys and sales-bots, something I shudder at....

lifelong career as long as you can adapt, keep up to date with skills.
But on the other hand, there is no cure, one time you will have to step up, art director, design manager, something... but I guess if you freelance, then who cares, just keep going. We are in a global virtual environment. No one knows if you are 75 or 20, and it is only getting less and less transparent.

If you don't want to, don't. If you do, do. No rules.
