Hey guys! Might be planning a trip to Boston this year (never been there) and was wondering if I could get some help. Where's a good place to stay? Any suggestions on hotels, areas, etc...
It'll be my wife and I so tourists places would be preferred... THANKS!

Expedia usually has really good deals on hotel, travel, renta car packages in Boston.

Revere Beach > Kelly's Roast Beef
Even though "Faneuil Hall Marketplace" is your typical urban tourist trap... It is a fun place to visit with some great food and entertainment.

You should search for a Bed & Breakfast (If you dont need all of the hotel amenities) in one of the downtown neighborhoods like the Back Bay, South End, or Beacon Hill. There are also plenty of hotels in the Back Bay (avoid the financial district, it's a dead zone outside of work hours)

Be absolutely sure to have at least one dinner in their Italian section. The neighborhood is great, the food is real-deal, and the peeps are cool too. I think it's in the North-End.

What are you looking for... Price Range? Amenities/experience? How much time will you be spending in the room?
I would find something close to a Tstop.
A couple of thoughts:
Copley Square Hotel
Fairmont Copley
Newbury Guest houseWhen I visited Boston before I moved here I used to stay at a place called the College Club. It's on Commonwealth Avenue which is a beautiful avenue. It's in an old mansion and has, what a yelper described as, a "grandmotherly decor" but it's clean and cheap and in an excellent location:

when are you coming and what's your budget (per hotel night)?
what sort of things do you like: dark wood bars and beers or lots of steel and glass and expensive martinis?
for hotels, the fairmont is crazy expensive, if you can swing it, stay there.
if not, try the park plaza: http://www.bostonparkplaza.com/
great old hotel, been there forever and they often have surprisingly good deals. right on the public garden, excellent location.
the new ICA down by the waterfront is well worth a visit

the MFA just unveiled their new Norman Foster-designed American Wing and is a pretty great museum to being with:

not sure if you're into baseball, but good old fenway park is an american jewel. tickets are going on sale in like two days, but you can always get some at stubhub and http://www.aceticket.com/ if you're willing to pay...
other than that, freedom trail, north end, faneuil hall, aquarium (i love the aquarium but goddamn is it expensive to get in there).
do yourself a favor and skip revere beach, unless you're into cambodian biker gangs and guidospotting.

oh and if you like beer, both the harpoon brewery and the sam adams brewery have tours, where they liquor you up pretty good. afraid they've gotten pretty popular over the last few years tho, you might be with a crowd.

If you can afford it, stay in hotel near Boston Common (the park).
Everything will be easier to get to from there via the subway. Plus there are good restaurants and sights within walking distance.- disagree, copley is much nicer area.Greedo
- common = emerson kids, homeless, chinatown, hookers, and on the other side, beacon hillGreedo
- eh? Copley and the Common is a 5 minute walk.randommail
