What's on your wishlist of things you'd like to see less of in 2011? Personally for me it's...
Space!
- Put some stars on it, make it out of this world. Usually overlaid on pictures w/o context. Or in some random shape, possibly...Triangles!
- Why triangles? Why the fuck not? Throw a black triangle on it, call it good.

"Content is the new creative."
I'd like to see/hear less of this horse shit. What does it really mean, anyway? That there was a time in recent memory when "creative" (call it design, advertising, visual communication, or hot garbage – just please don't turn adjectives into nouns) was devoid of content? Nevermind the quality of content. But without any discernable message, visual communication is abstract art, junk, or something in between.
I think this is nothing but marketing bullshit that is fed by social media sheisters who (mistakenly) think design is pointless in the age of Facebook.

facebook, hate that shit.
- It's bad enough that I have an Twitter account, but I will never succumb to the FB.Andrew_D

Not really specific to 2010, or even really a design trend, but nothing pisses me off more than copywriters or PR people capitalizing unnecessary words.

I can deal with small budgets and no time to turn things around. But it seems one has become inseparable from the other, and reduces the chances of something worthwhile being squeezed out of shrinking budgets. It seems that flying by the seat of one's pants is the new planning.
In 2011, I'd like to see less of at least one of these constraints. Clients, take your pick. Hint: more planning costs less money.
- yes... it used to be cheap + slow or fast + expensive, now it's cheap + fast + better be good(!)vaxorcist

the increasing design trend of taking a pass on improving the design, flow and functionality of your site and instead spending all of your time and efforts improving your social media footprint and maximizing seo tactics.
really chief... you want to be page 1 on google fighting with the big dogs eh? Well, how does your site compare with the big dogs?

I'd like to see fewer magazines using twelve different typefaces from H&FJ in a single publication. Wired Magazine pulls it off. No one else does.

social network design shit.
"2.0" fuck those.

Definitely triangles, wolves & space.

People making a default rainbow gradient layer, and then setting the layer to overlay on top of a space picture.
