Have any of you guys been to the zombie wasteland that is Salton Sea, California?
I just went a few days ago and it blew my mind how both beautiful and ugly it is.
I posted a few not so great photos on my blog if anyone is curious: http://bit.ly/fFVnEw

I would love to go to a place like this, it's the one thing I like about large countries like America, you can just lose yourself in space and not see anyone for days at a time. We just do not have that kind of space in England.
- what about the peak district, some places are very remote. Get hiking dude!Hombre_Lobo_2

Great shots. Bits of it look like it's straight out of the last scene in Se7en.

Would be a great place to drive out to, put on some tunes, and just meditate.

south side, not north side of it right?
i went down there to shoot it and made the mistake of going north side. sucked. ha. waste of a day

We went around the whole lake, trying to beat the stupid early sunset. The north and south sides seem to just be farms.

ah. i went from the north west tip and traveled the north side to the south east tip. only saw one or two cool spots. where were you finding the best stuff? (if you dont mind sharing). id love to go back and be redeemed. ha.

Used to go fishing there with the fam back in the day...
in 2004 we went back for more fishing and nostalgia... man the smell of that place is indescribable and was it ever barren! When I got back from the trip my then girlfriend (whom I had just started dating) accused me of doing cocaine (which I have never tried); apparently that sulfur like smell which gets everywhere (in nostrils, on skin, in clothes) has a real similarity to the way a cocaine user would smell. I had a tough time explaining myself out of that one!
