That might be a great idea, if people hadn't moved on from numbers–when was the last time you used an actual phone number for someone you call regularly from your mobile?
The type of people (outwith hipsters, obviously) who might be tempted by a phone like this, will likely just go for a 'real' phone from about 10 years ago. Cheaper & better.
The Nokia 6310i, for instance.
What's wrong with txt-messaging, anyway? That's essentially a modern telegraph message, and predates telephony by over a hundred years. THAT's practical.
If they hadn't come out with a fucking gold-plated version, I might believe this product was intended as something more than some neue-retro accessory.

- not to mention that the most popular phone world-wide is the nokia 1100 (http://gizmodo.com...mcmillions
- though that's obviously for the sake of its price...but still, pretty stupid to drop €80 for simplicitymcmillions

robbers are killing people to steal their black berries back home in venezuela... maybe everybody should get this phone back home... I love my iphone... but I can see some "type" of people getting into this.

Fucking 80 dollars for a phone that doesn't text?

These all have texting and one even has QWERTY for a tenner or less (with top-up).
I think that phone is an absolute rip off.
