That final episode was pretty weak

This season was pretty weak. I had high expectations but ultimately the governor's arc was lame and slow. unlike the comic. The comic was fast paced and downright gruesome. Everything happened so fast that you couldn't even think, i think thats the biggest difference.

Every commercial break I checked the time left and I kept thinking... "not much time left to ramp this up"... and then there was no time left and it seemed like the episode never got started.
I want to say more but I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who hasn't watched yet.

So what's the likelihood that next season continues largely at the prison? I hope very low. I have the book but only read a little of it.
- i'm guessing at least until midway thru the seasonlocustsloth

I know this has been said before, but the plotline from the books was so perfect, it's a shame they decided to rewrite everything so much rather than film as is.
I wonder if they felt some of the scenes were too brutal for TV - like Michonne getting raped by the Governor, Hershel's daughters getting beheaded, etc. Too bad because the shock factor and brutality was a lot of what made the comics so compelling.
- I should really get back to the book. It would be a nice break from nonstop computer.mg33

That was weak.

And ridiculous. Why would you move from the town, which is much better defended and allround better living, to the prison, which is still overrun with zombies and has been infiltrated no less than three times?
- the town was infiltrated just as easily though._niko
- Only once as I recall, and not with vehicles loaded with walkers.i_monk
- yeah the fence is weak, but if done right the prison is more of a fortress and easier to defend than a town._niko
- but you can't beat the comfort and convenience of a town._niko
- it might of been silly if they took the town and the gov. took the prison._niko
- I think they should have taken the town. Comfy beds, a real home feel. Beats a fucking cell.monospaced

not much of a cliffhanger for a season ender, though the ending was a surprise.
Overall the show's lost its sense of wonder. It's stuck in a little microcosm of woodberry and the prison, It was more fun when they were on the road, venturing out into the unknown.

I hoped for at least some better teaser at the end of the episode like season 2 with the silhouette of Michonne and her pets.
Makes you think that they have no clue what's up for season 4 and I've read there has been another executive switch up around the show, so not sure what that means. The show has healthy ratings, but the way it is run, you'd think it was holding on by a thread.

This marks a major departure form the comics at this point. I don't mind the new direction, but I was hoping for some closure with the Governor. I'm glad they killed off Andrea. They kind of ruined that character. She could have been way more badass. I see why they stayed at the prison, but it might ruin the pace if they don't move on soon.

My main gripe with this show is probably why it's popular, ironically. I just don't like that there's no "goal," no "hope," and no foreseeable end. Yeah, I know, the zombie apocalypse is a tough place and it really is a shitty situation, but after all this time the group seems to have no "mission." It's the mission itself that usually gives the audience something to hope for. But, so far, the mission is only to survive. While that's well and good, it's boring. Where is the beacon of hope that they foreshadowed in the first episode when the helicopter flew over Atlanta, or groups broadcasting save haven over radios? If this is just going to be an ongoing wandering, I'll get more bored.
- true, when they had a goal like when they were heading to the military base (b4 the prison) i was more exited for the next epmoldero
- even Woodbury was a goal of sorts, a group working together to rebuild a sense of societymonospaced

I find myself rooting for main characters to die just so that something dramatic happens.

Thinking about the future of the show vs. the comic (just a thought) but maybe the Governor in the show comes back as a sort of a Negan (Comic) type character.
I know he already is to a degree, but Negan seems way off the hinges.

Season 4. Raids to Woodbury to get supplies. Exciting.
Since they went so far off the rails, it would have been mildly entertaining at the end to have had the governor and two last cronies roll up into Cynthiana and get killed by Morgan and his traps.
