Hello
Would you please share your info on interesting Portfolio sites for Design/Illustration.
I mainly work in Fashion Graphics so sites that have a fashion base too would be great.I don't mind if it involves a monthly fee, it should just be linked to a community and jobs section. Probably a bit like designtaxi.com
I had a portfolio on Krop and found the interface great but the client base too limited to the U.S and mainly Screen Design.
Many thanks for your help.

I think having your own portfolio is always good.
Most potential clients tends to wonder why the URL is as such.
Also, if you are looking to expand your work, I would look at larger base of specific related community or something larger like thumblr.
Post and get noticed and get more work.

Hello LordOfAnimalshire
This is defo really nice. I didn't know it before.
I am using fb and twitter to for online marketing and will probably add this to the list!
What I am after is more like a professional portfolio that I can refer clients too and also gets me noticed through a strong community behind it.
Thanks for the link anyway!

Have you tried doing to industry specific events like Le Book?

@jaylarson > This very similar to Krop I think. The design and usage is great but there is not marketing or client base connected. Where do you host your portfolio? - Or you have your own site?
@LordOfAnimalshire > Yes I was actually in touch with them. It is quite expensive but very known. Unfortunately I have never seen the back-end. Are you using it and did it bring you attention?
Does any of you know bikinilists > They have contacted me but also very expensive. I am based in London,so don't know if they are known outside the U.K
Many thanks

I think Le Book has been most successful because they actually bring the people from companies who will buy your service.
bikinilsts is known but not widely used in US.
I think you should have two tracks of marketing:
1, general creative community
2. industry specific (mainly by making personal relationship through le book etc)

Also, try FFFFOUND and delicious to broaden your reach of getting your work noticed.
