Don't see why they had to stop supporting Rosetta personally
- It's been ten years. Get over it.monospaced
- Good bye Freehand MX, Fontlab Studio...raf

According to Wikipedia: QuarkXPress 8 was the first version that shipped as a Universal Binary. So no that won't work.
CS3 should work because that's universal, you can find what works by selecting the app and hitting cmd+I and it will say Universal/Intel/PowerPC next to Application.
PowerPC means it wont work
- ThanksRaniator
- So just to confirm – Universal apps will work?Raniator
- Universal or Intel will work yesanimatedgif

Anyone going to put in on their official 'work' machine?
I rely on CS3 and Quark 7 (for older documents I have inherited)... they are compatible, right? If I was to put it on here and couldn't access stuff I'd be officially fucked.

Don't really see anything here that is worthy of the big cat title "Lion". Just little updates, and a bunch of stuff that I really don't need. Airdrop sounds interesting though...
That said, it's a $30 update, stupid to really complain about really.

I have found probably the ONLY worth feature in Lion.
"Upon entering the new recovery mode, you can restore your system to any point in time from a Time Machine backup and run Disk Utility to check, repair, erase or partition volumes. In addition – and this is obviously your key takeaway – users can“reinstall Lion over the Internet from Apple’s servers”. The ability to reinstall the operating system directly from the recovery partition without having to boot into Lion and run the Mac App Store is a neat addition whichever way you look at it."
Reinstalling Lion over the internet in recovery is something interesting and definitely useful if you are omitting the physical disc.
- but, for most people, it will be far too slow.Amicus
- Can't you also run safari while in recovery mode, that's pretty coolanimatedgif

Actually, I really like how they improved the Quicklook functionality. I can now hit spacebar on a MP3 on my desktop and still go do other things like browse, read email, etc. That's a big thing for me actually, no sarcasm at all.

Been rocking Lion for a month. I can safely say every new UI feature is now turned off, the Magic Track pad is going back to the store tomorrow. I still have yet to find a list of apps that even support the auto-save / versioning functionality, i definitely havent noticed jack with a single app I currently use. I donno man.
- really hoping there are some changes in the full release tomorrow, but my fingers are not crossed

Well it's not being actively promoted as that in their official promotional material, I wouldn't certainly call it revolutionary.
Things that interest me from Lion are autosave and automatic file versioning. I'd like to give the gestures a try and see how useful they are.

Where's the new Air?

Pisses me off that Lion keeps getting touted as revolutionary. Freals its nothing special for anyone who uses a computer for anything remotely serious.
- care to show us where it's being touted as revolutionary?ernexbcn
- I searched here http://www.apple.com… and here http://www.apple.com…ernexbcn
- and no "revolutionary" foundernexbcn
- Media mostly - one sec I just saw a link in this thread before i posted that.oddslob

is it possible to design using a trackpad?
- I wouldn't. I bought a Magic Trackpad and literally returned it the next day.chalk
- I disagree, i rather prefer it now. Still keep a mouse around, but I'm pretty quick with the magic track pad now.jtb26
- I have a stylus for designing, with a trackpad next to it, for surfing, text editing etc.BrokenHD
- gives the fingers something new to do. Less carpal/repetitive stressBrokenHD

But will it run my Genesis emulator?
- Raniator0
Wednesday this week I reckon...
- inteliboy0
Trackpad for sure. Using a mouse these days is kind of a pain.
