In light of the previous McNugget discussion, I thought this was noteworthy. Good Lord!

I saw a video of a nutritionist that travels around with a happy meal that was 4 years old. Still no mold. I don't think we should be eating that shit.

Aside form this being an incredibly timelinable, already more than suitably covered subject here, you can do this with a helluva lot of foods.
Whether a foodstuff rots is as much to do with atmospheric conditions and airborne contams than what's in the food itself - I've seen more than my fair share of rotting horror food comprising McDonalds etc, back in my student days.
I doubt Sally Davies would be quite so critical of Beef Jerky or unleavened bread after x months.

Even mold won't eat that shit.

Longevity explained @ Salon...
http://www.salon.com/food/featur…"Ultimately, says O’Keefe, the McDonald’s haters have gotten their science wrong. "The ingredients are similar to anything you’d see in processed fast food," he says. For better or for worse, McDonald’s is no more a chemical laboratory of secret compounds designed to embalm us from the inside than any other processed food maker. A Happy Meal manages to stay unspoiled because it is fatty, salty and practically empty of nutrients -- which, really, are all good reasons to avoid it anyway. "
mmmmmmmmmmm, 6 months from now.

grrr, it dries out after a few days and therefore no mould grows.
Try leaving it in a plastic bag in a warm place next time and see how much mould grows. detritus has it right.
This is basic basic science, doesn't surprise me that the daily mail is picking up a very old story from the web and re-publishing it.
Their pseudo science is a joke
