A friend of mine from/in Mexico is starting a woman's accessories line, that will eventually branch into clothing. The brand is Marta Ro (her name). She hired a designer/friend of hers to do the logo and is looking for feedback on what was given to her. I gave her my two sense, she asked if I knew anyone else to give it the once over. I'll eventually just point her to this page - go nuts!

is it horrible?
then start over

Does she want to be known as "Emm-Roe"? Because that's what those say. (If so, fine. Just askin')
Those shapes and colors will scale down...not so good.
also: the o's in 3a and 3b look like psychedelic cabbages (not a compliment)
the handdrawn "m" has a lot more personality than the serif or typewriter faces. i would explore that (and change that heinous palette)

Too complex.
Reset.

Keep working. The logo seems to read as "Mr. O". I might be better to use her full name "Marta Ro". It's a short and sweet name.
Just my2¢

^^^
I could see the exact same setup only with the full marta incorporated as smoothly as possible.

• I like the color palette
• I like the general direction
• I would simplify the decorative elements
• I would integrate the decorative elements into the "o"

I agree with what citysurgical said.
I think 2a has the most promise, but those delicate lines will get lost once it scales down.
personally, I would prefer to see a logo with logotype underneath, with one of these solutions as an alternate. Is there anything that will say "Marta Ro" on it (shirt tags, price tags, bags, signage etc.), or is this the only thing the designer has done?

I've been told 18 - 30 is the age range - the kind of crowd that would wear casual clothes.

30-40 dollar t-shits and 100-150 dollars would be the highest price - dresses and outerwear
