Anyone know how to get a ragged edge on a document. eg like it hasn't been trimmed. I think bob dylans book chronicles had the look.
Cheers.

try illustrator brushes + printing with a die cut, i've done it in cigar bands before.

I think he means a deckled edge. You have to specify a paper that comes with a deckled edge.

deckled is that torn look, so yeah
this is a specialty binding question for the book binder

You can achieve this effect with some simple DIY
You'll need:
1 x straight-edge ruler (preferably metal, cork-backed)
1 x paper of your choiceTo begin:
1) Take your paper stock, set a straight-edge ruler against the edge you want to have the deckled effect.2)Now, starting at the top corner of the edge you want deckled gentle pull the corner of the paper up until the paper starts to tug at the edge of the ruler.
3)Then proceed to simply tear the paper along the edge of ruler. This should give you a similar look for what you describe.
Depending on the paper stock you may need to score along the ruler lightly. You can make the deckle less dramatic if you score the the paper first. If you want to do all edges of the paper simply repeat the process!
