send Steve Jobs $100 and it will start working again

The shoddy tech could be a feature ... Perhaps Steve is trying to show how 'real computers' aren't going to be viable in the future.
I'm sure he believes that most people are going to need a curated platform - based on iOS ..

my macbook pro turns off aswell - over 2 years old - never had this problem so far.
Like someone described earlier its mostly when i move it / hold it on a angle - guess i must have hit it somehow while in the bag :&

no. seriously.

sounds like more bad battery connections going around. gotta love design choices that affect proper usage.

I'd turn off too if your hands were hovering above my keys.

actually i did have this problem before with an new-ish iMac... turned out that my UPS/ battery backup was not able to keep up with power demand. not sure i understand how/why, but replaced it with a bigger unit and problem solved.
- is that UPS/battery back up a separate utility? Meaning it wasn't inside the machine when you bought it, was it?dopepope
- http://en.wikipedia.…
http://www.directdia…inkpink - I think your problem was directly related to that item then, and not what we're suffering thru. You were actually lucky.dopepope
