Have you noticed, when it started, a lots of apps were free, now we need to pay for almost every apps.
Many of the free apps are total shit and/or just light version or demo.
Also have you noticed, the prices are getting higher and higher... when it started, 99cent was the price... now 5$, 4$, 6$ isnt rare.
Also, have you noticed that iPad apps are way more expensive than iPhone apps?

I've found most Apple users like paying money for software that they could otherwise get for free. It makes them feel better about themselves - and reaffirms their sense that they're not free-loaders.

I still see a lot of free apps, good free apps. the App Store is a relatively new market, that keeps growing. When it started, a lot was free but a lot was rubbish also. Now apps evolved to a more mature state of functionality and well thought design. It's normal that prices move accordingly. You will continue to see cheap and free apps, but also more refined and complex ones that cost more.

Apps are software, aren't they?
Software helps you do stuff you want to do, doesn't it?
Makes sense to pay for it, if someone's put time into making it?What about if someone asked for a website for free?
There are thousands of threads dedicated to that. It's a mental paradigm shift to get over
Paying for something that is totally digital.- some apps doesnt worth the cost, if you wannnna knowbenfal99
- Public television have educational show, haven't they?
Education helps you do stuff you want to do, doesn't it?

Also, pillhead. Those apps aren't Apple products. Only the store is, and the store doesn't set the prices of the apps. Prices increase because the developers are simply demanding more for them. That's that.

I remember when a video game in the arcade costed 25 cents. Now it's hard to find 50 cent games, and 1 dollar to play the awesome game that has two player gun action.
