I am contemplating between the new Samsung Galaxy S and the Iphone 4.
The Galaxy has been reviewed by many neutral critics as the first official "iPhone killer" especially since the iPhone 4 has disappointed many.Which one would you take?
The Galaxy Tab is also out to rival the iPad which I found quite impressive.

I am more than happy with the iphone although very intrigued by the galaxy, would love to have a play with it at least. Why not get both and return one after a few days of playing?

Samsung is in the far end of the list of companies I would trust with a phone interface. I had the fantastic superthin x820, the amount of clicks needed in order to just send a text message was... well, too large, far too large an amount.
I played with the Galaxy in a store. How do i put it... Galaxy has this utilitarian Android feel of "pre-iPhone" UI world. Usable, of course, but not very pleasant.
- dude, first cell I ever had was a samsung anycall with voice rec,
first touch phone I ever seen was a samsung, back in 99'georgesIII - people in outside asia isn't getting the same hi-tech phones, sometime I think its because they don't care about usgeorgesIII
- I am not saying Apple invented touchscreen, it's just phone makers would get away with dreadful UI before iPhone.raf
- People at Apple must have thought this market was easy pickings for them. Even praised Nokia simple UI sucked then.raf

Both Samsung and Google have fucking terrible UI designers... can't see it being great to use.

Well, regarding the UI, i tested both and I honestly dont have much of a problem with the Samsung either. All apple users feel uncomfy using other interfaces, which is justified, but I really dont. My question is just machine vs machine. What they are capable of and if it pays off.
The SGS is about 40% cheaper than the iPhone4, so is it worth paying that much more?
Also, can the iPhone4 also be tethered to your laptop to use its 3g function?- iPhone tethering can be blocked by carrier. It looks like you have your answer :)raf
