Im trying to open an InDesign CS5 file in CS3 and it aint happening... did a bit of research and apparently you can't save inx files... wtf is this??
Tell me it ain't so. I just copied the file I was working on over to my laptop because I'll be out for the day and the happens.
Anyone have a solution... not involving CS4
thx

Upgrades tend to be a one way street enforced by (usually deliberately) incompatible file formats. Why do you think Microsoft makes so money from Office?

save to .idml
then you'll still probably need to open it in CS4 and save it to .inx
Never tried to open a idml file in CS3 so it might just work.

If you can down-version CS5 to CS4 and then CS4 to CS3 that would definitely work too.

if someone made a plug-in that would solve this. that person, could be filthy rich. even if it would only cost $9.99. everyone would buy it. well, all designer, printers, etc. :-)
