They're both ugly cities BUT NYer's generally are a lot nicer to deal with.

@ethandmarquis
do you really think they're both ugly? I love both cities for the variety of architecture, the new sitting closely with the old etc. It's one of the many things that gives both places a living and evolving atmosphere.
I love the fact that in London you can have both St Pauls and the gherkin in your field of vision at the same time. So much nicer than somewhere where they stick to certain styles and the city has become almost a museum. Paris springs to mind.
I live in London but i'd happily live in new york. It's not NY vs LDN, it's the NYLDN tag team.
- Not "ugly" in the sense of character. You must admit there are aesthetically prettier cities on the planet. Certainly not as lively. :)ethandmarquis

I'm seriously considering moving from London to New York, but wandering if it will be the same SHIT.
Yes, London it's an amazing City, but after living here for 7 years and achieving everything I wanted to achieve here... I want to get the fuck out of here.
Main reasons:
-I think that I somehow became a moronic workaholic Twat somehow
-98% are moronic arrogant twats just like me
-The weather is SHIT
-The food is pretty SHIT
-Everything closes too early
- <wonderingclearThoughts
- shit - sorry for the terrible grammarclearThoughts
- There are seasons in NY. Food is good. Things close late. Moronic, arrogant twats live in NY as well.duckseason
- Things don't close early in LDN.. how you figure?RW

I also wanna work in NYC clearthoughts. I love london but am starting to want a change of location. The company I work for has an NYC office, so it wouldn't be impossible to switch it up and move.
My thoughts (having been to NY a few times) is just because the city is different for better or worse, doesn't necessarily mean that working life will be any better.
Also, I'm not completely sold on the US way of doing things design wise, definitely a different aesthetic to over here, I'm definitely a european designer.
Plus in the US I've heard you get almost zero holiday time.that said, there's definitely still a draw, more than any other city

Yeah - good point about Hols and all that.
I think work-wise London must be the most amazing place on earth. But it's just ALL about work.
And it's just not me, but 98% of the people I know....

If you are in design/comm/etc it is NY or LON for sure.
There are no two other cities like these ones for what we do.I guess in London you find proper alcoholics when in NYC you only have workoholics. Both cities offer great food (at a price) and plenty of things to do. NY is alive till later, but London has more culture and history. There no such thing as holidays in the states, and the transport in London couldn't be worst or more expensive.
Try them both. After a while you will be bored of any.
