The main principle of twitter is the principle of fragmentation. Twitter, in contrast to the published media, any full text or even blogging, is focused on the details -- and not only biographical details, but micro-biographical
"I got up, looked out the window", "drinking beer with my friends", "so i was sitting down and snot ran out of my nose" etc
The idea of breaking down a topic in its sub-topics is basically the essence of twitteringAll these moments which are snached out of context create the effect of new sacred topos, ie, because they are taken out of context of the boring life of the character in question, they acquire the character of a photographic image that can be enjoyed
And since lives of most twitter lemmings is completely meaningless and stupid, as a rule these people are average or below average, ordinary people -- what can an average person say? What he heard from friends, in the movies, television, newspaper, in best case -- read in a book
And yet the combination of these meaningless, scattered bits of information creates a discourse. They are taken out of context and thus begin to live -- to live sacred, immediate, momentary demonic lives, all of this which is the consciousness of freaks who populate twitter, who are already practically posthumans by Nietzsche.
"What is the truth? We found happiness " -- say the last men, and blink with their eyesTwitterers have found happiness by capturing the moment. They lower the world to their own insignificance, and thus cease to be insignificant themselves

a. not design work but I've booked shows by hollering at people through twitter when they say something in passing about my artist. If I followed more desingers, I'd probably holler at people I knew were not working on something else just because I see their name pop up.
b. It's a good source for community information that won't crush your world if it isn't true or happens to be wrong. It's a better source of entertainment. Comedians can have really awesome feeds. Good for when you don't want to talk to someone and you don't want to pretend text. You can either read your email -- or read your twitter. This happens often for girls -- especially if they're out by themselves. The phone is a good way to ignore someone annoying you.
c. A bunch, but only when I'm idle or waiting on something. But, I rotate between twitter and various RSS feeds for basically the same purpose.
d. A few times a day. Sometimes not at all if I'm really busy.

a. inquires on jobs more than business
b. i used to but not anymore. i only follow designers which used to be great. they'd post inspirations, new work, ideas... but it's less about design now and more of a soapbox for them to speak up on political subjects or as a who's life is cooler fest posting their minutely daily updates, however mundane.
c. not anymore
d. not anymore- i shouldn't say that... it was really only a handful of guys twitter bombing their drivel.kona

I get bored of it...
people are twitting so much that you would need to be there 24/24 to understand everything they say. Some people are highly addicted to that thing.
