I reckon playing it through on the harder difficulties definitely makes it a much better game.
Enemy AI is better, they're more likely to enclose and flank you, and their behaviour or action will change after you die, so there's no opportunity for you to learn a pattern. They're also much more accurate.
You need to change weapons constantly as ammo can get scarce and what you have probably isn't the best weapon for the immediate environment - numerous times I got raped by wanting to keep hold of my shotgun after leaving more enclosed areas.
Really liked the vehicle based sections too, was something a bit different to the previous games and I like the fact that you can jump in any old truck or forklift and drive it around.
Only thing that annoyed me was friendly AI, the other Spartans sometimes freeze up and don't follow you, so you either have to go back and get them or go on alone till they catch up. The normal soldiers mostly stupid as shit. Numerous times I tried to sneak in to an environment only to have them bundle in all guns blazing, only to be killed straight away.
Haven't played multiplayer/Live yet. Slightly scared it will eat my life...

I lost a whole weekend and completely ignored a few requests from freelance clients because of this game. But.. it was totally fucking worth it.

I'm probably about half-way through the campaign. Its the first time having a go through on Heroic - harder than I expected.
I get absolutely nailed on multiplayer - shame because I quite enjoy it.
xbl: NotJustAn0ther- Yeh I played through on Heroic, worth the countless plasma cannon rounds to the facerascuache

Finally beat it this weekend in campaign mode playing with two friends. Of course they made me play in the legendary setting so it was really hard. Loved it though. Now to try and complete it by myself. :-/

I'm starting to like this more than black ops
A college friend and I did the laso challenge last night. The first level on Legendary with All Skulls On (all 13). It was pretty nuts.
Reload checkpoint if teammate dies. Restart level if first player dies. No auto-shield regeneration. Only melee attacks cause shields to recharge. Needler fire, grenades projectiles (ie. Rocket Launcher, Brute Shot) and vehicular attacks are more easily evaded by the AI. Brutes go Berserk and Grunts will turn Kamikaze more often. NPCs throw twice as many grenades. NPCs always drop two grenades when dying. Motion Tracker is fully disabled. Dropped weapons have much less ammunition. All enemies are more difficult. Enemy defensive resistances/weaknesses are increased. All NPC's health is doubled. Physics effects are tripled. Explosions and melee attacks launch characters and objects farther. Damage does not increase.
This ones a bitch: Your entire Heads-Up Display is disabled. You can't see your weapon or it's crosshairs, shield meter, motion sensor or ammo/grenades.hit me up if you're still playing gamertag: TheMagicSheep
