Hi Guys,
So I got myself a HTC Desire and rooted it, pretty fun.
Just wondering if there is any theme out there that was actually designed by a designer and is an improvement on the HTC skin? The HTC skin is a but web 2.0...I need something more minimal...
Anyone done anything cool with their rooted phone?

I would recommend you just go and try to find Stock Android 2.2 and install Launcher Pro.
I believe HTC Desire is the same phone as Nexus One i have .. I believe there's a firmware out there that has stock Android.

replace Sense with Launcher Pro or ADW (right form Market) and you can make it as minimal as you want. I've gone back and forth between the two and ADW seems less laggy and less FC's...
Pure Widgets does a nice job for calendar and messaging, if you like that stuff on your home screens, very minimal and you can skin it a number of ways. They're not free though.

anyone tried the cyanogenmod on the HTC Desire?
Im thinking of installing it if its nice and stable....I prefer the google nexus style skin to the HTC one...

Yes that's the one I've heard people install on Desire to get stock Android.

I started learning how to develop apps for Android last week ... it's really not so difficult - the Google documentation is pretty good, and the various APIs are quite wide ranging in terms of functionality.
Really brought home to me how many applications only use the very basic functionality that's described in the first few tutorial docs. Once people become more familiar, iI think we're going to see a much wider range of unique application.
