Purple dilemma

I know someone just asked if red looks good on black.
I have a similar issue with WTF a medium value purple will look good over. The client changed their logo to purple on me, and now I have to deal with it over photography. Looks like shit over the dark parts, unreadable over other parts.
Is there anything other than white that makes a good background color for purple? I'm not keen on having to do the tired old trick of a white band at the last minute.

Surely they have a white version of their logo for use on dark backgrounds. Or you could make one...

Spend some time looking at this up-and-coming company's branding and communications:
I did some work for them last year, and it was indeed a little challenging to incorporate the purple, and I still don't agree with some of the decisions. But they've done a lot of that exploration work for you.
Of course, if the genre of your client's business is not in line with them, keep looking around. Start with your pantone books, or try these sites:
