Hello,
I've been a fan of this site for sometime, always admiring and loving the work posted. So I thought it made sense to find someone here to help design a new logo for my production company Ivory (www.ivory.tv - Under re-construction)
As I'm only a freelancer, I don't have a massive budget, but open to offers.
Would like to see who available and their past work.

Some of you guys should get the graphic design guild pricing and ethical guidelines.
The price of the logo determines.
How large is the business?
Number of employees?
Where will the logo be seen? Print, tv, web?
ect.If its a small company, startup or someone solo $200 for the logo is a very fair price.

has the graphic design guild ever gone on strike demanding fee increases?
- identity0
- yeah but you will then get more design work down the road. So it all pays off at the end.SoulFly

if you are in a weak currency country £200 is quite a load of money...
so tell us rgk, are you going to choose a designer based on the portfolio or will you ask for a submission and then pay to the one you like the most? (and fuck all the other, of course?)

Utter shite, he is paying you for your time and expertise regardless of how big an agency he is. And for £200 that gets 4 hours of a half competent designers time. A full day (at most) if they are being generous.

Fellow designers,
If you want to justify taking a quick £200 for a few hours of work that will result in some type-set logo, be my guest. We're all human - we all have bills - they all need to be paid. He'll, the idea of type-setting a quick logo, praying for no revisions, and having an extra £200 in my pocket for an hours worth of work sounds pretty nice to me.
However, I've been around long enough to know the process of these things - that a fully formed identity takes tons of research, time, industry information, etc. (literally dozens of variables that will ultimately inform the process and ALL the versioning that should go with a project that build more intrinsic value for a company than anything else visually that they will do)
It devalues all of us to clamor like hungry wolves at a bare carcass like this. For everyone's information, the ethical guidelines states that even the logo for the smallest company should still come in around $800 - $3000. I realize this isn't the £200 figure you got out of your first edition printing - but it might help you, financialy speaking, to get a more current guide.
- but... he promised to send more projects in the future. And he is a fan of QBN for many years...SoulFly
