What is the minimum allowed height (going by the shortest bar) on a UPC bar code, by truncating it.
I know stores discourage truncating by more than 20% and that you can get fines for having scanning issues, but I see a lot of really tiny UPCs out there, so I need to look into.
Monospace do you know?

Whenever I've done packaging, the UPC codes/areas were predefined and placed in by the manufacturers. I basically put in FPO stuff.
On the other hand, I've seen creative barcodes that go down to 1/4" wide and even ones cut into shapes (Coke's contour bottle, for example). I'm sure with a little research you can find something (see above).

height wise, you can do smaller or longer. just don't make the bar to small. then it can get scan.
