say you have a friends login for their dropbox.com account (they gave it to me).
can they tell when you login and download something?
I can't see anyplace, but just wondering.
I'm just curious about one of the files they have, nothing personal.

they can tell if you accept the invitation to a shared folder they set where you have access, but they can not tell if/when you download.
dropbox works like a synched folder on yr desktop—minimizing download times with significantly slower upload times.

let's say you have a PSD file in the dropbox folder and you made some change to that PSD file. Dropbox automatically notify you on the dropbox log what file and when it was modified.
you can view the drop box log via drop box website.

If they installed Growl when installing DropBox, and you modify something while they´re at their computer they will get an update. Chances are pretty small they will check the DrobBox log. I say go for it! :)
