iPad killer only down the corner

I have a droid phone. I, like most Verizon users got it because we didn't want to give up our plans and move to AT&T.
That said, the UI isn't slick. There are some neat things, but most is a copy/re-skin of the iPhone UI. It's fast, that much is true and Navigator is dope. But the apps are more than lame, the UI falls short on details and you can obviously see it's a work in progress, whereas the iPhone got their shit straight from the get go.
The iPad has a leap on the rest again because the UI is well thought out, and development is easy. I doubt, with Google's track record so far with droid, that they'll come out of the box with a "killer" of any kind.
My vote: whatever. I'm waiting until January and getting an iPhone then getting the next version iPad when that drops .

I like Apple's products better, too. No one comes close to their refinement. Why, I don't know. For ages now, all the competition had/has to do is to copy things!
BUT, competition is always good for the consumer. Hopefully, Google will get it right and only make 1-2 products.
It would seem that HTC could make an iPhone rival (true rival) if they just focused on one great phone, not 20 different versions.

It was a lot easier as kids. "mom steve got a new ball."
"ok son here is a ton of money. Make a similar ball to compete with it."
"yay mine will have flash. I'll show them!"
"son, flash will ruin you mobile web experience."
"but mooooooooom"

bring it on, competition's always good

this is totally the same thing that happened to Apple in the past. Only difference is that Google is a lot better than Microsoft.
Only thing I care about, is weather it will run Flash or not.
- I think it's a safe bet Flash will be on this tablet.CyBrain

^ lol, another company coming out with a product makes it an automatic repeat of Windows vs Mac?
I wouldn't get too excited just yet. For one thing, seems like a somewhat different experience Google is shooting for - Chrome OS is not like iOS or Android, it's supposed to be based entirely around the Chrome browser. So it could be more Netbook-like than iPad-like.

"1280 x 720 multitouch display, 2GB of RAM,"
HAHA KEEP DREAMING!
Why would it need 2gig of ram anyway? Chrome OS is just a web browser it doesn't do anything else, there won't be any native apps..- 2GB is possible on any netbooklukus_W
- good thing it's a tablet then not a netbookPIZZA

Gotta say it's nice the way Google just throws it all out there for you to see.

If you think about it, Apple is/was in a position that few other companies were. They had been building hardware and software since the late 70s.
I don't think a company, even a smart one like Google, can just decide they want to suddenly make computers and develop the expertise overnight.
