What do you think the best solution is for this? JQuery? I threw together a script that works but I'm wondering if there will be too many situations where people have JS turned off or the content doesn't load in time. Or is there a good plugin out there people already use?

Just had the same problem. Managed to solve it with CSS:

In the past, if I've wanted multiple columns of text, I've pre-prepared the mark-up server side. CSS3 has support for multi-columns, so that might be an option if you're talking about text content.
Imo, equal vertical height is difficult to achieve and often isn't worth the effort. Years ago, I used a method that was part of 'one true layout', but it was a bit too hacky for my liking.
I reckon, with a standard layout, a lot of the time, 'faux columns' do the job nicely.
I'd be interested to know if there are any new solutions.

Hmmm
Can anyone figure out how they achieve it in the Sproutcore demo?

Is it all just CSS or is there some scripting involved?
