Establish what is the root cause of what sucks. Often one thing will be the cause of everything else sucking.
I just went through a rough patch with my relationship, my friendship, myself, employment e.t.c
I realised that it was the place I was living in that was bringing me down and proving detrimental to all the others. Once I moved I didn't consciously change anything else, and it all just got better.
Your job, life, relationship, work, friends don't all suck. One of those things will more than likely be bringing you down, and being down with one thing spreads like wildfire.
- I love you, this is my thoughts exactly. I am making this exact move you suggesting!fabricio2k

I was in the same situation as you. So I quit my job and got myself a 2 year working visa for the UK. Worked in a new city and traveled as much as I could. Then moved back home after 2 years.
Live elsewhere for a bit instead of buying a house. It will give you a different perspective on things.

• marfa is awesome.
• I don't know what you do - but try working with a tactile medium. Start working with your hands again.
• Rely on your friends. Don't drink this away. Invite them over or go out with them and do something productive (or mindless: see a movie)
• Understand that you and only you can determine how you feel about anything
• If its VERY serious, see a shrink. The stigma is gone and it's perfectly acceptable to seek help if you just cant do it by yourselfI wish you the best and sending positive vibrations your way!

vacation, not travel really, just take a vacation and take a good look

Moving or travelling doesn't always fix everything. Thats like saying everyone else is the problem and nothing is wrong with you when in fact the problem probably is you, not where you are. Moving and travelling may temporarily make you feel better though.

i agree with the vacation recommendations. pick a destination and figure out the in-between on the fly. be spontaneous. just go. and take a camera. make something out of it, something to remember it years from now. life is too short.

Move to China and learn Mandarin in a dedicated school for 6 or 12 months, then travel around with some new skills and a new outlook, then come home and start fresh.
This is what I have planned for around March next year.
^ Hombre_Lobo's advice is good too.
- good luck with that! swing by and say hello. China's lacking in QBNers.mydo

^^
I'm very excited to say that I have bitten the bullet early (after a big than expected tax windfall), and I have resigned. I will be pursuing my plans to study in China, not before stopping in Brazil, hopefully NYC, France and Hong Kong though :)
After that, I have an offer to chill in the Phillippines with a mate's very wealthy family for a month or two, before I come back home, or take off somewhere else.
I just told one of my mate's the news, and he said "I never thought you'd have the balls, I'm really proud of you, go live life and do what you want to do."
Woooo!!
