This seemed like the best place to ask, so here goes:
- I've got an MP3 music file
- I've got a .mov animation I want to loop, as a background thing
- The whole thing needs to be merged into one movie file, so I can upload it to youtube. What piece of software (i'm on a Mac) would fit my needs best? I have Flash, but there's probably something easier I can use.
Thanks!

it's too bad youtube doesn't let you add your own audio with their editor. http://www.youtube.com/editor

I would say iMovie to start, It is really user friendly and very quick if your doing something simple.
I use Mpeg-4 encoding in medium format with a key frame every 24 and the results are pretty good.
iMovie is not cutter edge to say the least and you will find it very limited compared with After Effects or Final Cut. But it is quick and I find it to be pretty intuitive.
