Pretty fucking weak, only liked The Message, Born Free, XXXO.
It's almost like since she has married a billionaire's son that all she does is sit around on the internet all day and hasn't got anything interesting to sing about anymore.

"...don't she make basically pop music?"
- ukitwell, i dont consider it as pop music. for me pop music is what Britney Spears do. MIA's music isn't really accessible for people who listen only to pop radios.

My girlfriend listens to her music all the time. I like paper planes, but that's it. She's too lazy sounding or some shit.

I read that NYT article about her and it made her sound like a spoiled art school student who fucks/ manipulates her way to fame and has no actual talent or even knowledge of how to play music. But then again, she obviously did come up with this whole aesthetic and sound which is pretty unique.
When you write such a detailed profile, I think it would be tough to find any artist who's really all that "authentic." I mean how many American rappers really killed people and actually lived the lives they rapped about? How angsty do Trent Reznor or James Hetfield really feel sitting in their mansion with their millions reading Bloomberg News? They could write a song about how oil futures dropped 20 points or something.
- The person who wrote that article doesn't like her at all. Shame they couldn't create a coherent narrative to frame their objection.********

- Yeah also it seems like Diplo and some of her other friends don't like her anymore...who knowsukit

She's just pop music for a different spectrum of interests. Just as contrived and stupid.
- amen. her "political" themes are simple and generic at best.********

i'm looking forward to hearing it. i don't find her contrived, she's pretty authentic, comes from a decent music/art scene in london and made her own thing.
