Some considerations should be where your demographic reads this magazine, how they hold it, and how they remember content. I'm assuming they have more time on their hands, so you can have longer articles.

The target market is men 55-65 years of age.

Everyone from 60ish downwards wants to be thought of as young. The baby boomers changed everything.

The concepts of old vs young will blur. Eventually it will just be based on how much money and time people have (i.e., old people have less time and more money, young people have more time less money).

Old fucks are ALL about information. Trust me, they do not care what the type looks like or any other elements of good design. As long as they can read it, that's all that matters.
