Passphrases really are the way forward, aren't they?
Even something really simple and memorable like 'myfatherscarisajaguar' takes about a quadrillion years.

anyway, it is assumed a desktop pc is used to crack the passwords
in 10-20 years we will have quantum computers, so any password can be cracked in less than say 30 years from now
