Is there a decent Itunes alternative for mac? I no longer have anything like an ipod / iphone etc so am looking to try new stuff!

Sometimes I use VLC player. Less of a memory hog.

Working with Android is preferable. anyone use doubletwist?

I used doubletwist just to pull some stuff off of my mom's droid when she was here on vacation. worked pretty well. I have yet to do anything else with it, like organize/purchase music, media, etc.

doubletwist is ok. i use itunes and it syncs itunes playlists with android phone, but I guess you don't need to use itunes if you don't want to. unfortunately doubletwist doesn't support flac files though, which i have a lot of. itunes doesn't support flac natively, but I use fluke to play them within itunes. the last time i used songbird it was super slow.

Winamp for me, sits nicely at the bottom of your screen as a tidy little bar. Not sure on the whole mac compatibility though since I'm still on xp at home!

Spotify, just for music though

VOX is very nice in function and look. plays more formats than itunes and it converts all sorts of formats to what you want. customizable gui.

doubletwist seems good, slow though
- how is that - plays down-tempo only, or would it also slow down my speedcore tracks?invisiblechamber

VLC. free, plays almost anything, free.

songbird.
Best player so far with excellent integration with last.fm and other online stuff.

This might help:

VLC functions pretty well as a rudimentary music player much in the same way winamp does. Not sure about the whole android thing though.
