hello team. since i want to create an hour full of enjoyable music spiced up with some samples and movie dialogues i am looking out for a simple audio program which let's me do "gettin' on" without wasting time reading a manual. all clear? green!
ps: http://www.jahtari.org/artists/b… - dig that

err, would that work with garageband too?

Yeah, if you don't need the "DJ" part (doing actual beat matching of the songs) and just want to blend sounds together then something like Garageband is probably your best bet.
For DJing software, Ableton Live is what I use, but it cost a little ($100 for the low end version I think).

yeah, it's just for some mixes i want to share. until now, there is no need for live mixin. but i have heard a lot of good things about ableton

ableton live you can do live mixing but you can also do non-live too. ie; you can pre beatmap your tunes and line them up the way you want, then export

traktor will auto match stuff and is probably a bit easier to figure out than ableton

ableton is awesome. I haven't used a ton of programs. Audacity (which is free) for years for minor editing, Then my friend needed some help recording, and I came across a copy of protools that I managed with, but after I tried ableton, especially from the POV of a first time user. It was great. Try it for free.

Ableton. You'll only need to learn a fraction of the softwear to mix music and theres loads of tutorials.
