They don't clone hair folicles by now? Did you look into propecia, rogaine, hairmax, or hair transplants?

cut it short, go bald gracefully. at least you've got a receding hairline, my hair is super thick except i'm quickly looking like a monk with a spot on the top of my head. if you do rogaine you have to use it forever, your hair will fall out very rapidly if you ever stop.

Bosley (or similar hair replacement procedure) or get just shave it to the skin. Completely bald only works if you have a nicely shaped head though. Definitely don't do the comb over.
If I ever had that problem, I would definitely drop the loot on some kind of hair replacement procedure. It's your head man. If you're single, you have an even better reason. I've seen a few guys who've had it done and it looked a hell of a lot better than being bald. I'm not sure of all of the technologies out there so maybe they can make it completely realistic nowadays.
Maybe look into Rogaine too if it's just starting to recede.

I started thinning out about 6 years ago...
... after 2 months of trying to figure it out... ... I just broke down and buzzed my dome - I look okay shod to the skin as long as I'm aware of ingrown hairs etc (zits on the top of your head are kinda nasty).

um yes seems it need some fine tuning.
coolness is directly proportional to amount of hair on top of your head in addition to your other coolness quotient?

All right, enough movie stars and folks that could rock almost any cut from me.
How about this guy?
"The thinner—or more receding—your hair, the shorter you should keep it."
