  adobe writes the runtime for the browser, not apple, so it's out of their control. that said, it's incredibly difficult to write cross-platform code that works between windows and mac so flawlessly and apple is notorious for deprecating their api's (ATSUI, anyone?), so they (apple) don't really make it easy for adobe.

  it's just a messy situation is all, but when a non-corporate third party comes in to 'mediate', things get interesting.
